Not just another ministry meeting

Outreach ministry meeting was awesome...

Somehow felt totally loved by God...

Don't belittle the things the Lord has put in our hands....

PRAISE JESUS FOR OUTREACH MINISTRY (Community Services) & (Global Outreach)...

Braving through CITYLINK at this F1 period was definitely worthwhile.

Praise & Worship was totally cool.

And could sense a great change about to happen in Outreach ministry.

Blown away by what Pastor Keith shared...
Ask God, "what's the distraction?' instead of asking "where's the blessings?" God will NEVER shortchange us of blessings. It's distractions that hinder blessings. Cuz as God's Word says, SO SHALL IT BE...BLESSINGS IS FOR US, GOD'S CHILDREN!

WISDOM LIBERALLY, FAVOR PROFUSELY for me. Amen!
I am a healing centre, in CHRIST.

Graduation Project submission tomorrow.
PRAISE JESUS ONE LOAD OFF MY MIND AFTER THAT.

2 interviews with recruit agencies & 1 with Singtel on Monday...
I know FAVOR will flow AMEN AMEN AMEN.
And it definitely is favor that THESE FEW DAYS so many jobs are calling me for interview.

Vindication

Jesus smiles at me even when the world doesn't seem to be smiling....
I wanna rise up to the occasion...
I wanna be dependent on You only...
I wanna have You vindicate me...
I wanna be justified forever...
I wanna have loadsa wisdom...

I know I am LOVED by You beyond measures...
I know I am favored to the max....

Most human beings cannot be trusted,
Everyone will betray someone...
it's just a matter of how big or small...
That's the imperfection of man...
the flesh...acting up...
I am no perfect being too...
But I know You still love us all...
Every man feels that a leopard will never change it's spots...
To man, it's once bad forever bad...
or once good forever good...
But You see differently...
You still love....You still give... freely...
That's what grace is all about...

Hillsong United - Arms Open Wide

Take my life I lay it down
At the cross where I am found
All I have I give to You oh God

Take my hands and make them clean
Keep my heart in purity
That I may walk in all You have for me

Oh here I stand
Arms open wide
Oh I am Yours
And You are mine

Take my moments and my days
Let each breath that I take
Be ever only for You oh God

Oh here I stand
Arms open wide
Oh I am Yours
And You are mine

My whole life is Yours
I give it all
Surrendered to Your Name
And forever I will pray
Have Your way
Have Your way

Oh here I stand
Arms open wide
Oh I am Yours
And You are mine

Escapism

Few would deny that relaxation and recreation, in measure, are healthy activities which enable us to enjoy life more and to engage better with others. We all need some time off. However, many people are becoming so habituated to escaping reality that engaging with others has become a scary and unwelcome prospect.

The term 'escapism' is reserved for those who take excessive time away from real life to the point at which they seem to be trying to escape from it. Traditionally regarded as extreme, escapism is in fact increasingly the norm for many people. In Japan, for example, the average household watches over 8 hours of television per day1.

Escapism is not defined by the behaviour itself but the motivation behind it. Anything from sport to fashion to sex can become escapist activities. Certain escapist options are socially accepted, such as consumerism and celebrity worship, others are not, such as recreational drug use. Modern technology has brought digital culture - television, films, increasingly realistic computer games and virtual realities that provide escapist experiences with huge degrees of immersion. Means of escapism have become increasingly varied over the past few decades, but fascination in details remains a popular one.

We interpret the popularity of escapism as an indication that people are unhappy with the lives they are leading - whether due to material deprivation or cloying overconsumption. We believe that friendship is the key to helping escapists - by encouraging them to think altruistically, it can break them out of their self-imposed prison and they can start living for real once more, enjoying their connections with others.

Ultimately, the means of escapism is relatively unimportant. Its root cause is an inability to establish meaningful relationships with other people in the real world, and it is generally associated with feelings such as guilt, powerlessness or pointlessness. It is natural to abhor a zero-sum economic system which assumes an unnatural selfishness and attempts to motivate people by fear not love. No wonder people try to escape from the depression that results from taking part in it.

SLEEP AS A FORM OF ESCAPISM

-The record for the longest period without sleep is 18 days, 21 hours, 40 minutes during a rocking chair marathon. The record holder reported hallucinations, paranoia, blurred vision, slurred speech and memory and concentration lapses.

- Anything less than five minutes to fall asleep at night means you’re sleep deprived. The ideal is between 10 and 15 minutes, meaning you’re still tired enough to sleep deeply, but not so exhausted you feel sleepy by day.

- A new baby typically results in 400-750 hours lost sleep for parents in the first year

- Some scientists believe we dream to fix experiences in long-term memory, that is, we dream about things worth remembering. Others reckon we dream about things worth forgetting – to eliminate overlapping memories that would otherwise clog up our brains.

- Dreams may not serve any purpose at all but be merely a meaningless byproduct of two evolutionary adaptations – sleep and consciousness.

- Exposure to noise at night can suppress immune function even if the sleeper doesn’t wake. Unfamiliar noise, and noise during the first and last two hours of sleep, has the greatest disruptive effect on the sleep cycle.

- The “natural alarm clock” which enables some people to wake up more or less when they want to is caused by a burst of the stress hormone adrenocorticotropin. Researchers say this reflects an unconscious anticipation of the stress of waking up.

- In insomnia following bereavement, sleeping pills can disrupt grieving.

- A night on the grog will help you get to sleep but it will be a light slumber and you won’t dream much.

- After five nights of partial sleep deprivation, three drinks will have the same effect on your body as six would when you’ve slept enough.

- Humans sleep on average around three hours less than other primates like chimps, rhesus monkeys, squirrel monkeys and baboons, all of whom sleep for 10 hours.

- Ducks at risk of attack by predators are able to balance the need for sleep and survival, keeping one half of the brain awake while the other slips into sleep mode.

- Ten per cent of snorers have sleep apnoea, a disorder which causes sufferers to stop breathing up to 300 times a night and significantly increases the risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke.

- Some studies suggest women need up to an hour’s extra sleep a night compared to men, and not getting it may be one reason women are much more susceptible to depression than men.

- Feeling tired can feel normal after a short time. Those deliberately deprived of sleep for research initially noticed greatly the effects on their alertness, mood and physical performance, but the awareness dropped off after the first few days.

- Experts say one of the most alluring sleep distractions is the 24-hour accessibility of the internet.

- The extra-hour of sleep received when clocks are put back at the start of daylight in Canada has been found to coincide with a fall in the number of road accidents.

Friendship

Research has shown that people who have friends tend to have better physical health and report a better sense of psychological well-being than those with weak or no network of friends. Although some people may know a lot of people, they have a more select group of friends and an even smaller number of "best" friends.

Friends provide support in three main ways: emotional, cognitive guidance, and tangible help. Friends give each other emotional support by demonstrating care and affection. They also provide guidance during times of decision-making. Friends give help by meeting practical needs, such as loaning a car, cooking a meal, or taking care of a dog while a friend's on vacation. Psychologists have hypothesized that friends are actually coping mechanisms; by providing companionship and resources...

Alvin & The Chipmunks - Bad Day

Where is the moment when we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the light just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been a way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on

Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work on a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holliday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work with a smile and go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day

(Oh.. holliday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong

So where is the passion when we needed the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

'Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work with a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Had a bad day
Had a bad day

We've got nothing to lose, we've got no reason to hide.

Theres nobody else for us Jesus You are the only One!

Woah!
Your'e alive and we are free
You are everything, everything we need!
Woah!

Theres not a minute to waste not a second to lose
Tehres a city that waits for us it's time we took
All the lamp shades off
We'll see Your glory revealed
And see your name lifted high
There is nobody else for us
Jesus You are the only one!

Woah!
You're alive and we are free
You are everything, everything we need!
Woah!
Love has spoken and we believe, you are everything everything we need.

Promises

2 Corinthians 1:20 (Amplified Bible)
For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.

While promises are broken by man,
God's promises is YES & AMEN!

His promises will never be broken.
His promises are eternal, the same, yesterday, today & forever.
His promises are NEVER empty promises!

God promises forgiveness and grace. God is for us, not against us.
God promises to be present in good times and bad. God is with you!
God promises eternal life. You have a confident expectation of good of what is to come.
God promises courage in the struggle. You will have enough come what may.
